Two very different kinds of drawing game in here

The second kind uses drawing as a control scheme. You draw a ramp, a bridge or a path, then watch physics decide whether it worked. These are puzzles wearing a pencil, and they reward planning ahead more than neat handwriting.

Finger, mouse or stylus?

A touchscreen is the best fit. Line-drawing games map directly onto a finger, and a tablet gives enough room to be accurate without crowding the picture.

On a laptop a trackpad can make freehand lines wobbly — a mouse is noticeably easier. If your child has a stylus for a tablet, the colouring and tracing titles are where it makes the biggest difference.
